What I Wore This Week
May 1 - May 8
In the pursuit of 100% closet utilization, I’ve been stretching my style muscles and thinking outside the box when creating outfits for my lesser-worn items.
Friday, May 1

This funky outfit definitely doesn’t fall under any of my style words, but it was extremely fun. These lovely pieces were gifted to me by my aunt and have been patiently waiting in my closet to be worn. One day, it dawned on me to pair them together…
I decided to leave the shirt halfway buttoned to create a sharper shape in an otherwise flowy outfit. I matched my earrings with my socks, then grounded the entire look with black loafers.
Saturday, May 2

This day was a bit chillier, so I ended up pairing this look with a cardigan. I absolutely love this top, and the color goes so well with the striped pants. I wore it to a birding festival, which was very exciting and informative (I’m that friend who can give you an answer to “what bird is that?”).
Sunday, May 3

This dress was one of my highest cost-per-wear items, and now that the weather is suitable enough, it was time to bring it out. I love the earthy vibe and continued that through the green sandals. These earrings are also a recent exciting addition, created by a friend’s mom for her new jewelry business.

Quick outfit change for a walk in the park with my husband - this set was recently thrifted, and I was finally able to wear it. Obsessed, not gonna lie.
Monday, May 4

May the 4th be with you… This outfit was inspired by Jedis and the planet Tatooine. As a bonus, I dug out my childhood lightsaber (purple in color… I was thisss close to channeling Mace Windu). I think it’s so fun to try and put together an inspired outfit without looking costumey.
Tuesday, May 5

Pulled out some lesser-worn items for a cozy look on this day. I loved the color palette; the blue tank paired with the warm sweatpants and a taupe cardigan to round it all out.

Then my husband and I went out for a casual dinner, so I swapped into this no-brainer t-shirt-and-denim combo.
Wednesday, May 6

A very uneventful day here… this was my gym outfit.
Thursday, May 7

I spent basically this entire day doing yard work and cleaning up our garden, so this look was a quick one for my hair appointment.
Friday, May 8

Friday included more yard work, so I didn’t wear this outfit the entire day. I was glad, though, to have attempted to wear more of my clothes anyway.
That wraps up this week! I’m taking a short trip in a few days, so I will publish next week’s post when I return…
Until next time,
KC
